Frequently asked questions 💬

  • Every project is divided into clear phases. Phase 1 focuses on design development and usually takes 4–6 weeks. Phase 2 covers technical development and another 4–6 weeks. Phase 3 involves sampling and production support, which can take several months depending on the manufacturer. Each brand and factory works differently, so these are only approximate guides. From start to finish, you can expect a smooth, collaborative process designed to maintain creativity, clarity, and attention to detail at every stage.

  • Sarah Denise Studio works on a first-come, first-served basis to ensure every client receives full attention. We recommend booking at least four weeks in advance so there’s time to plan and prepare your project properly. Occasionally, we can accommodate urgent projects depending on the schedule and scope of work. If your deadline is tight, please mention this when enquiring — we’ll always do our best to help where possible.

  • Almost all of our clients work remotely from around the world, so our process is designed to make collaboration easy. We communicate clearly through email and scheduled calls, providing regular updates throughout the design process. You’ll stay informed at every stage with digital presentations, visual feedback, and summaries after each milestone. You can contact the studio between 9am and 5pm (UK time), Monday to Friday, and we’ll adapt to time zones wherever possible.

  • All services are bespoke and quoted individually based on your needs. We work on a fixed per-project fee to keep pricing transparent and predictable. Each phase is treated as its own project, with 50% due at the start and 50% upon completion once you’re fully satisfied. Payments can be made via bank transfer, Wise (TransferWise), or PayPal. If you’re unsure which services best fit your goals or budget, we’re always happy to discuss options before you commit.

  • Each design package includes up to two rounds of amendments, which is usually all that’s needed thanks to our detailed upfront process. We take time at the start to understand your brand, preferences, and creative direction, meaning later changes are minimal. If you require further revisions beyond this, they’re charged at £75 per hour, and we’ll always confirm this in writing before proceeding. Our goal is to achieve your vision efficiently and collaboratively.

  • We don’t produce samples in-house, but we can guide you through every step of the production process. During Phase 3, we connect you with trusted manufacturers suited to your product category and budget, then support you through sampling, fittings, and approvals. Depending on your chosen factory’s capabilities, minor adjustments may be needed to improve efficiency or cost. Any recommendations are always discussed with you first to ensure your creative vision stays intact.

  • Absolutely! You will have complete rights over the finalised design.

  • At each step, you will be presented with the work to date. Together we will discuss the approvals and

amendments to be made, and this will be summarised and confirmed via email to ensure that you stay

    informed throughout the process.

  • The best way to begin is by completing our enquiry form with as much information as possible about your brand, goals, and timelines. From there, we’ll arrange a short introductory call to discuss your ideas and prepare a tailored proposal. Whether you’re launching your first collection or refining an existing range, we’ll guide you through every step — from concept to creation — with professionalism, creativity, and care.

Commonly Used Phrases and Definitions ✍️

Like any industry, fashion comes with it’s own language.

We cover a few of the terms you’ll need to know below.

  • A tech pack is a detailed blueprint that communicates every instruction a manufacturer needs to transform your design into a finished product. It includes measurements, fabric composition, colours, trims, and construction details - right down to the stitch colour.

Without a precise tech pack you leave yourself open to a whole world of problems.

Benefits of a Professional Tech Pack:

    • Provides structured, reliable information for manufacturers

    • Reduces errors during sampling

    • Improves first sample accuracy

    • Can be shared with multiple factories for quotes

    • Serves as a reference throughout production

    Do I need Technical Packs?

Yes. Tech packs are essential. Investing in detailed, professional documentation early will save you time, money, and unnecessary revisions and sizing issues later in the process.

  • Trend forecasting identifies what’s next in fashion and retail.

Understanding ever-shifting market trends can be tricky, but it doesn't have to be. We use industry insights, market data, real life case studies, and intel from all retail and zeitgeist industries to build a vision of what is next in retail and fashion.
